Polyfunctional house at Brno Veveri - Urbanistic-architectonic study

Following the surrounding local urban structure I have designed the block structure of buildings. One of the blocks were chosen for polyfunctional building that include mix of urban dwellings – shopping floor in ground floor and offices in the second floor. These functions are supplemented by three floors of rent apartments, senior living and apartments in public ownership. The central part of building is courtyard surrounded by porch, terraces and balconies.
Analysis of the Highest and Best Use of a site in Veveří Street in Brno

The diploma thesis deals with method of analysis of the highest and best use of property, called HABU. The work can be devided into two parts (the theoretical part and the practical part). The theoretical part explains basic terms, presents the current state of the issue in the Czech republic andabroad, further describes the procedure using HABU method and introduces us to the four basic conditions that the method of analysis of the highest and best use is based on (conditions of legal accessibility, physical possibility, financial merits and maximum profitability). In the practical part, the method is applied to a particular case. It is part of the former military site on Veveří 40 street in Brno. The aim of the thesis is to find the most effective use for the given land.
Intenzive Urban Housing Brno

The subject of this thesis is the architectural study of revitalization of a city block and its spatial structure. Selected part of city was solved already in previous project that preceded own thesis. Merger proposal will allow a larger number of different functions within the complex, which will ensure the residents to various forms of housing, services and employment and leisure activities. The studied area is located in the city of Brno-Veveří. Plan shape of the object based on the area in which the three parties connected to the access road. Mass and spatial design respects the surrounding buildings and uses the sidewalks along the whole of the area. The matrix of the object is divided by two axes passing through the object into three blocks linked by a courtyard. This creates a square with a water surface with the possibility of recreation and sitting under the trees. The shape of these three blocks is further formed in several height terraced layers. Do terraces are placed in the atrium and individual residential and office units have large windows and balcony available. This solution brings natural light into the interior while allowing illumination of the courtyard and surrounding objects within the chosen area. This spatial structure is horizontally divided by function. There are proposed underground public garage, arcade with shops, services, administration and housing. The exterior of the building is designed by combining brick facades and white plaster, which works like optically lighter impression of the building.
Brno lives on Veveří

The aim of this work is to find an urban solution of the existing periphery in the middle of the city. The problem is solved by a comprehensive composition of buildings and their mixed function. This system of European streets has been proven for centuries, so an effort was made to incorporate it into a modern city.
Multifunctional building Cow Mountain

The multifunctional edifice in Kraví hora, Brno, Veveří is designed as a new building with sports-recreational function (a climbing center, a scout club room). It also has a social function (a restaurant). The building is situated in a flat lanscape on the top of Kraví hora. The building is designed as single-storey house with a flat, vegetation roof, except of the climbing wall, which is higher and it`s a dominant feature of the whole compound. Load-bearing construction of the building is formed by a wooden skeleton system. The climbing wall has a wooden load-bearing construction combined with a monolithic reinforced concrete wall.
Microscopic traffic model of streets Veveří and Kounicova.

Diploma thesis deals with microscopic traffic model of the streets Veveří and Kounicova including adjacent road network. This model was created in software Aimsun based on maps, the results of the directional survey, traffic intensity at junctions and signal plans. Elaborated model of the current state location of interest was calibrated according to the traffic intensities on the entrance and exit roads. They have also been designed and created three possible variants of the solution streets Veveří and Kounicova. All variants were finally compared and evaluated.
School of Art Brno

The theme of the project is concept of new building of Art School in locality Brno-Střed, Veveří. The land is located in silence area Kraví Hora close to Observatory and planetarium Brno. Concept consists in conserving silence area by creation a park, which includes designed Art School. Facade of school is made by perforated, chrome-plated, steel iron. This facade component was selected because of achieving a bonding and a coalescence between building and surrounding nature. The object contains two different substances reciprocally unificated by hanging facade. This integrity is disorganized by three entrance vestibules with class-covered facade. Building is functionally divided into three parts – school management, education (situation of particular branches), representative part (auditorium, café, exhibition space). These parts are interconnected. The entire complex of oborArt School is used to relax, education and developing artistic skills.
Multifunktional Building Brno

The topic of this diploma thesis is to revitalise of one city block and to maximise of its utilisation with combination of many different functions on this concrete area. This work is based on pre-diploma project in previous semester. This project ensures many possible functions for the inhebitants and also reflects natural differentiation between privat and public usage with impact on high quality of living space and appropriate public transport. Designed build-up area is situated betveen Veveri, Kounicova and Pekarenska streets in Brno. Patterns of this area are essential for the treatment of this project when both diagonaly and verticaly crosses whole area. Substance and space treatment reflects nearby structures and is naturally connected to it. Main substance of object is divided to three blocks via communications which crosses the area. Innerblock is sedated with green vegetation, connected to transit parter with shops and services. On the parters roof there is green walk-designed cover for inhabitants and after there are higher houses. Whole building complex is closed with rambling fractional roof covers with terraces of storeyed flats. This space structure is horizontally divided by its functions. In this project there are underground garages, shops and services, administrative spaces and space for rent and mostly flats for living. Fundamental look of the building is created by external rendering covering most of building which is connected to nearby structures. Shopping mall and separate blocks and also entrances to buildings and terraces/balcony are formed by taking off the substance by which leads to its fractionalism.
Research on parking in surroundings of Civil Engineering Faculty

This bachelor thesis explores stationary traffic in surroundings of the Faculty of Civil Engineering. The research aims to discover impacts of a recent reconstruction and a simultaneous parking charge imposition of Veveří Parking Lot on drivers’ parking habits. The thesis is based on field surveys. Acquired data are used as background information for an analysis of parking spot day occupation and parking duration. Furthermore, the data measured at the parking lot are compared with data concerning other parking possibilities in the given area. Finally, a concept suggesting an optimal usage of parking areas is presented.
Intensive Urban Housing

The study deals with a proposal to deal with an area of 27 hectares in the city of Brno - Center. The premises of the former military warehouses on a plot between the streets of Veveří, Pekárenská, Kounicova and Sokolská. At present there are used by supermarket, other buildings deteriorate and are intended for demolition. At the southern corner of the parcel is located on the street Veveří tram stop. From here you can easily walk through the plot in Kounicova street, but the current state of the environment at the site of the area devalues the experience of being in such a space and aesthetics due to the surrounding historic buildings. The dominant element on the corner of the parcel is a protected sycamore. The proposed structure is suited to the current understanding of the world. Combines resources for intensive way of life with the necessary convalescence and his need for space with greenery, calm and light. The concept uses a nautical elements inserted into the context of the Czech Republic and simultaneously builds on Brno functionalism.
